HOW TO EAT LIKE A CHILD

A delightful musical about childhood including “How to Beg for a Dog,” “How to Eat French Fries,” “How to Drive in a Car” and the eternal slumber party vow “I Refuse To Fall Asleep.” Enjoyed by all ages. Available June 9-25.


THE FROG PRINCE OF SPAMALOT
Hyronomous A. Frog doesn’t quite fit in among the other frogs in the bog. He’s incredibly large compared to the others and hates the taste of flies! When he meets Gloria, the good witch, he learns he must be kissed by a maiden to break the curse that turned him from a prince into a frog. In a hysterical scene, our frog legged friend learns how to walk like a human and sets off for Spamalot, where he finds the spoiled and petulant Princess Gladiola and her sisters. When all seems lost for our beloved frog, he finally gets his kiss, bringing about a ribbiting. . .er, riveting . . .heart-warming finale!
Available July 9-30.


A TOBY SHOW     
Written under a Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, playwright Aurand Harris brings to life an American folk character and American theatre history with the character, Toby, the country bumpkin, who through naiveté, honesty, and homespun humor outwits the city slickers. Toby Shows (there are many scripts with this funny character) traveled early America with critics lauding “A laugh a minute! A cyclone of fun! Toby, a stick of dyna-mirth!” Available August 4-21.


SCHOOL HOUSE ROCKS JR!

VELVETEEN RABBIT
A timeless tale of love and sacrifice as revealed through the story of a small stuffed rabbit given as a gift to a little boy. A toy rabbit is made real through a child’s love. Available December 2008.


THREE TALES FROM JAPAN
Perfect for celebrating National Library Week! Three enchanting Japanese folk tales from the Bunraku, Kabuki and Noh play tradition: The Magic Fan, The Princess of the Sea, and The Little Peach Boy. Beautiful costumes, dances, and music will enchant the eye as well as the ear. Appropriate for ages 4-11. Available March – May 2009.


DIARY OF ANNE FRANK
Newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman, the play incorporates newly discovered writings from the diary of Anne Frank as well as survivor accounts, are interwoven to create a contemporary impassioned story of the lives of people persecuted under Nazi rule.
For grades 6 and up. Available January –May 2009.


BABE, THE SHEEP PIG
The tale of high adventure in the farmyard that became the hit movie Babe is a captivating play for children young and old. The heartwarming story of the piglet who rises to fame at the grad Challenge Sheep dog Trials. For youth, ages 4-11. Available January –March 2009.

As big as Texas characters come to life in this fast moving play about the history of Texas. Watch your Texas history curriculum come alive in these larger than live characters and true Texas history! Available January – May 2009 Appropriate for grades 1-6.
